Ours is an unusual love story that took us both by surprise.

We first met at a conference in Oxford, a meeting Larissa barely remembers and Kerry doesn't remember at all (he was busy running the conference). Next, Kerry interviewed Larissa for a job which he didn't hire her for. We eventually ended up working together anyway—Larissa even becoming Kerry's boss—and, over time, developed a deep, mutual respect for one another. But it wasn't until years later when, during a stressful work day, Kerry offered Larissa a hug, and, somehow, suddenly, we fell in love—something neither of us would have imagined was possible if we hadn't lived it.

Larissa discovered that Kerry is good at dancing and loves surprisingly girly cocktails. Kerry discovered Larissa can take him on at strategic board games and...enjoys...dancing at least.

Five years later, we continue to love working together, but also playing Dungeons and Dragons, tubing, line dancing, and watching extremely trashy dating shows. Our home in Austin, Texas, is full of boardgames and cocktail ingredients.

 

When we announced we were engaged, some friends commented that they assumed we were already married. We're so excited to get to celebrate our love with our loved ones and make it official.
